How to fix the 'Out of Frequency' error in games.

So, the other day, I was trying to play Devil May Cry 4 on my low resolution monitor but I kept on getting the 'Out of Frequency' error everytime I run the game.
I knew this could be fixed if I could change the game resolution but inorder to do that, I would have to actually run the game, which my monitor was not allowing me to do.
In this tutorial, I will be showing you how to fix this error with no downloads whatsoever.

This can't even be called a tutorial because the procedure is very easy. Perhaps, too easy.

Let's get started.
The first thing you're going to have to do is create a shortcut to the game, somewhere. If you already have one on your desktop, you can skip this step.

After having done that, right-click your shortcut and select properties.

Under properties, click the Shortcut tab.

Now in the Target textbox, you should be able to see the path of the game. After the entire path, simply put a space and type in "-windowed" without the quotes.

Hit apply. If it asks you for administrative privileges, just hit "YES".

If you did that right, your game should run on window mode.

Once your game runs on window mode, just go to the game options and select the resolution supported by your monitor.

Simple as that.
